The Page Report
Each algorithm or clinical case will be accompanied by a Page
Report Example: (017 A) Breast
Mass. The data
included in the report will be used for drawing up the keyword list,
which will allow the database Med-Online and the establishment of
connections between its pages.
The Page Report will be made by the author(s) of each algorithm by
filling out the Page Report table which may be downloaded from the
Med-online website (page_report.doc) or requested from the Project
Secretary.
The Page Report will be sent by e-mail, on a diskette or in print
to the Project
Secretary, who
will introduce the data into the online database. The Romanian version
of the Page Report will be done by the project secretary.
(Code) and Title:
(Code) - The Code of the chapter in which the algorithm is included.
The code for Clinical
Presentations will be found in the List of
the University of Calgary, Canada.
The code for Diseases and
Case Reports will be
found in the ICD 10 list elaborated by WHO.
Title -The name of the algorithm, indicating the content as clearly
as possible.
Authors:
Contributions from all categories of specialists, physicians or
academic staff, are encouraged. The algorithm authors are free to
choose their collaborators. The responsibility for the page content
belongs entirely to its authors and reviewers.
References :
The published sources used for developing the algorithm will be
cited selectively. The recommended reference style (webmaster:
Recommended reference style with
examples) is the one used by the
Science magazine, but other styles used by prominent medical journals
will also be accepted.
Reviewers
Each algorithm must be reviewed and approved by another expert,
chosen by the authors from among colleagues or collaborators they
trust. Reviewers will be informed that their names will be included in
the Page Report. We hope that the mention of the reviewers' name will
increase their responsibility in the algorithm analysis and will
represent a reward of their work.
Contributions, updating
The database is meant to be dynamic, updated whenever necessary and
open to contributions from users. Valuable suggestions or contributions
(recommendations, observations, case records, imaging etc.) included
into the algorithm or in the attached pages will be acknowledged by
mentioning the contributor's name in the Page Report.
Page Editor
The responsibility for the page maintenance and updating as well as
related e-mail correspondence will belong to one of the authors of the
algorithm or another expert in the field designated for this job.
Keywords
Keywords mentioned in the Page Report will be included in the list
of terms used for database search. The list must be as detailed as
possible and reflect all the important aspects of the algorithm.
Insufficient coverage of the content by keywords will make the page be
missed by the database search. Therefore it is recommended to also
include accepted synonyms of concepts as well as accepted terms in
literature. Example.
